Meet the Artist:

Mark Cappellano is one of those folks, using his art to share his passion for birds. He began drawing birds while inspired by their exquisite songs, wonderful coloration, complex behavior, migratory wanderlust and flight. His drawings are part of a series entitled “Uncaged,” of what will be roughly 100 different species representative of most of the world’s unique environments. His first show is at Estate Coffee in Pacific Palisades through March 10, 2019.

Cappellano is an environmental conservationist and former Napa Valley vintner. He is director emeritus of Earthwatch Institute, 5Gyres and a current trustee of mongabay.com. Mark is also a partner with UCLA’s Congo Basin Institute and a partner/supporter of Audubon California. His images are on Instagram @cappellanoarts
